The Premier Builders process for construction, renovation, and custom cabinetry is built around one simple idea: every project is personal. From the first conversation, we focus on creating genuine partnerships with our clients, architects, and designers.

No two projects are alike, and we approach each—large or small—with the same level of care, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. Our process is guided by open communication and transparency, so you feel informed, supported, and confident at every step.

  • Premier Builders partners with many of the most respected architects and designers on the North Shore and throughout Greater Boston. Clients often come to us through these trusted relationships, and we are also happy to introduce you to design professionals who best fit your vision and project goals.

    From the start, we establish a collaborative team approach that brings together the Client, Designer, and Builder to build rapport, trust, and clear communication. The architect and/or designer is engaged directly by the client to develop the initial plan and scope, translating your vision, needs, and lifestyle into a thoughtful design.

    An initial Concept Plan is created and reviewed with Premier Builders to discuss feasibility, options, and early questions. This plan outlines existing conditions, square footage, general materials, mechanical systems, finishes, and overall project intent. Based on this concept, Premier Builders may prepare an initial budget to help guide decisions as the project moves forward.

    The design team will then develop a more detailed Pricing Set of Drawings and Specifications defining structural requirements, exterior materials, mechanical systems, and interior finishes such as flooring, cabinetry, lighting, and plumbing fixtures. This allows us to prepare comprehensive and accurate pricing.

    A final Construction Drawing Set is produced for permitting, code compliance, and construction. Many clients choose to keep their architect or designer involved through construction to assist with selections, design questions, and on-site coordination through completion.

  • Once Concept Plans are received, Premier Builders prepares a preliminary Budget along with a general estimate of project duration. At this stage, figures are intended as a planning tool—not a fixed price or schedule. Estimates may reference square-foot benchmarks based on comparable completed projects.

    This early budget helps clients make informed decisions about scale, design features, and overall direction before advancing to detailed pricing. As the architect develops Pricing Drawings, Premier Builders and our network of trusted subcontractors and vendors analyze the plans, visit the site as needed, and begin assigning real costs and timelines.

    We then present a detailed, proprietary Premier Builders Client Estimate—a phase-by-trade breakdown that clearly defines scope and pricing. Where selections are not yet finalized, Allowances may be used as placeholders. These are temporary figures that will be adjusted—up or down—once final decisions are made.

    After pricing is approved, a formal contract between the Owner and Premier Builders is executed. We provide a detailed construction schedule outlining each phase and expected durations. Exact start dates are confirmed once permits are issued and construction begins.

    Throughout the project, budgets and schedules are reviewed monthly to ensure transparency and alignment.

  • With contracts in place, a dedicated Premier Builders Project Manager is assigned to your project. Our Project Managers and Site Supervisors are experienced construction professionals committed to quality, communication, and accountability.

    Your Project Manager thoroughly reviews all plans, specifications, pricing, and schedules with our management team to fully understand the details of your project. They become your primary point of contact—overseeing daily operations, coordinating trades, procuring materials, and maintaining quality control.

    Depending on project needs, the Project Manager may be on site regularly or managing logistics from our office. Weekly meetings can be scheduled to review progress, budgets, and upcoming decisions.

    Billing is completed bi-weekly or as outlined in the contract. Any changes in scope, selections, or allowances are documented and reviewed before invoicing. We also manage all required municipal inspections and coordinate the final building inspection at substantial completion.

    Punch-list items are addressed promptly, and our goal is simple: to deliver an exceptional experience and a home you will enjoy for years to come.

  • Premier Builders’ custom cabinetry and millwork division is recognized for exceptional craftsmanship, quality, and customization. We collaborate closely with talented designers to create award-winning, one-of-a-kind millwork for both residential and commercial projects.

    Whether as part of a full Premier Builders project or as a stand-alone fabrication partner, our standards and process remain uncompromising. We begin by reviewing your designer’s concepts to prepare an initial budget and discuss key details such as wood species, finishes, door styles, and custom features.

    Our Cabinet Shop General Manager oversees every phase—communicating with the client and designer to ensure expectations are met. After design approval, we produce detailed Shop Drawings for final review. Any adjustments are incorporated before confirming final pricing.

    Fabrication and finishing take place in our shop, and clients and designers are always welcome to visit. Typical lead time is approximately 12 weeks from final shop drawing approval. All cabinetry undergoes final quality inspection before being carefully delivered to the site.

    Installation is completed by our in-house team of skilled finish carpenters who understand the precision required for custom work. The result is millwork that becomes a defining feature of your home for years to come.
